The books on this site arose out of many years of running weekly classes for adults who were either beginners or improvers in Irish trad. The classes, and their associated trad sessions were known as Dusty Banjos.
Started by Mary Lovett, and later joined by Heather Greer, hundreds of adults came along to the classes and to the sessions, over the years.
Mary got the idea of producing a book of the tunes and sets she had devised for the Dusty Banjos classes, to mark the first ten years of the group. Other books followed.

In 2015, the running of Dusty Banjos was handed over to sisters Siobhan and Una Hogan (see right) - well known for their traditional music, and enthusiasm for helping others to become involved. They continue to run the classes still.
As mentioned above, the classes are for adults, all are welcome - though some playing experience is necessary - and the atmosphere is friendly and informal. They're for learners who play any melody instrument.

The Dustys Music Group is on Wednesdays, 7-9pm, at The Bungalow, COPE, Mervue, H91D25W (See HERE for more information on the venue)
Participants learn a new tune in the first hour, and the Learners' Session is in the second hour.

PLEASE.. DON'T use the 'Contact Us' page to enquire about the weekly classes, since we don't organise them anymore! Use the phone number for Siobhan (above) - phone or text her. THANKS.
